Dulci

Written for the hammered dulcimer performer Matthew Coley, Dulci loosely references the four Paracelsian elementals: gnomes, undines, sylphs, and salamanders, respectively representing earth, water, air, and fire. I also capitalize on Coley’s virtuosity by employing contrapuntal texture throughout much of the work. ~N.T. This work is in three continuous movements: I. Gnomes, II. Undines/Sylphs, and III.
