This arrangement was adapted from a two-piano version of the piece arranged by Chabrier himself. It calls for four accomplished marimbists, as two-mallet technique is required for all parts. The piece calls for one 5-octave marimbas, and 3 4.3-octave marimbas. While only the marimba parts are included in this duo, performers should feel free to incorporate the auxiliary percussion instruments to add any desired color or timbres.
