This arrangement was adapted from a two-piano version of the piece arranged by Chabrier himself. It calls for two accomplished marimbists, as advanced technique is required for both parts. The piece calls for two 5-octave marimbas, however the Player 1 part can fit on a 4.5 marimba with minimal changes. While only the marimba parts are included in this duo, performers should feel free to incorporate the auxiliary percussion instruments to add any desired color or timbres.
