Please Pay Us– We Play Marimba for a Living was written for HM’s Galop Tour in April 2022. The tour concluded with a concert featuring a trio concerto performed with the Minot Symphony Orchestra, which is why we did the entire tour with three artists. I asked Ujjal if he would compose something for HM and he gifted us with this wonderful rollicking trio that is truly from his voice. He explores the Fibonacci series and palindromes, as well as other effects such as phasing and rapid hockets in the work. It is proudly and most definitely a Heartland Marimba piece.
