Please Note: HM is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization committed to the advancement of the marimba and keyboard percussion art form, benefitting the careers of artists and composers, and placing great importance on community connection and education. Every member of the artist roster is expected to be involved in the day-to-day administration of the organization and booking events for each season. HM is 10 years old. It is a leader in the percussion field and chamber music world with a unique, multi-faceted model, and provides a one-of-a-kind benefit to its artists. To continue our impact and growth, all artists are busy taking care of organizational, behind-the-scenes work, just as much as they are busy with practicing and performing the music for our concerts. HM is exclusively a chamber music company. We rarely promote our artists as soloists. When we are on tour, we do master classes as a group, when we program for our performances, priority is always placed on doing chamber music. Artists are expected to maintain a robust performance career as a soloist, collaborator, educator, and/or large-ensemble musician outside of their work with HM, and those individual endeavors help to bolster HM’s impact worldwide. Each artist is also expected to list HM in their biography and to make being an HM Artist a visible and substantial part of their identity as a musician.
