If you are an amateur player (have played a mallet instrument at some point in your past, or can read music and are willing to learn mallet playing technique - we'll give you mallets too!) or are a high school percussion student in the Central or NE Iowa area, we can set up additional rehearsals, lessons, and practices for you. Please reach out.
Professionals we have a limited number of stipend positions for which we can help with travel and accommodation expenses. Please reach out.
The concert repertoire will be roughly planned so the pieces get larger with personnel as the concert progresses. HM artists will perform smaller chamber pieces early in the concert and we will add other professionals for some octets, and then add percussion students for larger works, closing the show with the mass marimba orchestra adding more students and community members!
We're planning a fun retreat for mallet percussion players, and we hope you will join us!
